Ledger is in the spotlight this week, driven by news about hardware wallet security and the precautions taken by some resellers. The manufacturer's name is linked to a question that now concerns every digital asset holder: how to protect private keys?
Trezor is not far behind, cited in the turbulence around physical wallets and distribution channels, a topic that is prompting many users to check where their device came from. On the software side, MetaMask continues to dominate debates on self-custody, while Trust Wallet is benefiting from renewed interest in mobile wallets. Coinbase Wallet, Phantom and Rabby round out the landscape, the latter two driven by very active ecosystems and by security recommendations circulating among French users.
The French market is thus clearly turning toward security and personal control of funds, rather than convenience alone. Exodus, Tangem and SafePal occupy more discreet niches, between general-audience multi-asset wallets, card wallets and alternative solutions, but they confirm the same trend: direct custody of assets remains at the heart of concerns.
