West Elm opened its new store at The Park in San Luis Potosí, and with that move reignited the debate over contemporary furniture in Mexico. Meanwhile, the home market moved on several fronts at once: IKEA kept up the momentum of its PS 2026 collection and its expansion plans.
Among the big chains, Liverpool brought interest in furniture and decor to its October Venta Nocturna event, while Coppel launched discounts of up to 40% on furniture and mattresses that put it in the sights of shoppers. Williams Sonoma celebrated its 11 years in the country and raised the visibility of its portfolio, bringing Pottery Barn along with it in the premium segment. Suburbia, for its part, included furniture and home goods in its Noches Moradas event, and Mobi and Bozovich appeared in office and home furniture offers. AHAL, a Mexican design brand, maintained its presence in the trade press.
The landscape confirms that Mexican furniture consumers have more options than ever, from design specialists to department stores with aggressive promotions. Competition is waged less on the product than on price and the shopping experience, and that forces all players to compete with discounts and seasonal events.
