Today the spotlight of the education agenda is once again on the Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı; a series of consecutive statements on the 2026–2027 academic year and the YKS system has made the ministry the sector's most visible actor.

The technology and civil society sides have also weighed in on the education debate. Türk Telekom Eğitim Çözümleri, Vitamin LGS and Raunt stood out in education technology with their exam success, while Rönesans Eğitim Vakfı entered the student support agenda by opening its 2026–2027 scholarship applications on September 15. The OECD drew wide attention in international comparisons with its assessment of Türkiye's education performance, while at an education summit in Istanbul, IB schools and their leaders gathered to discuss the future of education in the age of artificial intelligence. The Haberimiz Olsun Project drew attention as a current project centered on YKS and media literacy. The Yükseköğretim Kurulu, with its decision allowing Turkish students in Iran to continue their education in Türkiye, brought the issue onto the higher education agenda. The Milli Eğitim Akademisi's executive training program, Eğitim-Bir-Sen's statement on the new academic year, and Ankara Gazi Anadolu Lisesi, the school where the year's opening ceremony was held, also made headlines.

Overall, the education agenda is advancing on multiple layers, through public policies, private sector technologies and international comparisons alike, and this activity is expected to grow further as the new academic year begins.
