On October 20, Chrono24 published its ChronoPulse report for the third quarter, and the results are shaking up the watch industry: Vacheron Constantin has taken the top spot, while Patek Philippe follows in second place with a significant gain. Two Geneva traditional houses thus dominate the quarter.
Cartier reported record levels on the pre-owned market, which also brought the brand into the spotlight in recent days. Despite the top trio, Rolex remains a reliable barometer of demand thanks to its high volume. Audemars Piguet, Omega and Breitling hold their positions in the watch list, while IWC draws attention above all for its value for money. Jaeger-LeCoultre and TAG Heuer remain firmly represented in the index.
The shift at the top shows that the classic Geneva houses continue to strengthen their position on the secondary market. For collectors and dealers, this is a clear signal that provenance and rarity currently count for more than short-term fashion trends.
