Nike dominated sneaker feeds in Mexico this week with new drops and collaborations that captured collectors' attention. The brand was not alone: adidas and PUMA launched October models and collabs that filled release calendars across the country.
New Balance and Jordan made a strong entrance into those same calendars, and Jordan once again drew the attention of those who follow every launch. Converse returned to the radar with new collaborations, while Vans shifted the urban fashion conversation with its October releases. ASICS appeared in recent collabs that circulated through the sector's news flow. On the less favorable side, Reebok and Under Armour had to deal with counterfeit products tied to their brands, an issue that led to raids against fake goods and forces buyers to check the provenance of every pair.
Mexico's sneaker market runs on drops and collaborations, but also on consumer trust, and brands that can combine appealing launches with control over counterfeiting will have the advantage.
